Borussia Dortmund may abandon two transfer targets

German club Borussia Dortmund is expected to abandon plans to sign two talented players from its transfer shortlist. According to Sky, the club's management is close to halting negotiations due to high asking prices. This is reported by Goal.com .
The players in question are KRC Genk member Konstantinos Karetsas and Racing Strasbourg representative Diego Moreira. The Belgian club is demanding around 35-40 million euros for the 18-year-old Karetsas. Borussia Dortmund considers paying such a large sum for a player of this age to be too risky.
Regarding Diego Moreira, there are not only financial aspects but also tactical incompatibility issues. The 21-year-old winger primarily operates on the left and right flanks of the attack, which does not fully fit the 3-4-3 system employed by head coach Niko Kovac.
So far, the Dortmund team has signed three new players for the upcoming season. These include central defender Joane Gadou, purchased from RB Salzburg for approximately 20 million euros, as well as promising youngsters Kaua Prates and Justin Lerma.
It was also announced that the team's main goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel, will not join the Switzerland national team for the time being. He will remain at the club's disposal for a certain period.
