
Huawei and China Unicom have launched the first 10G broadband network in the Xiong’an district of Hebei province, China, Mydrivers reported.
According to the report, the new network delivers speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, significantly improving bandwidth and reducing latency to mere milliseconds. This marks the world’s first deployment based on the 50G PON technology.
Experts say the 10G network will enable demanding applications such as 8K video, cloud computing, augmented and virtual reality.
Meanwhile, China is also making strides in other tech areas. Researchers from Hong Kong developed a food 3D-printing system using AI and infrared heating. Another team built a high-precision laser camera capable of tracking military satellites from over 100 km away. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
