Balmuda The Clock introduced an alarm clock

Japanese brand Balmuda has introduced The Clock, a premium alarm clock designed to do more than wake people up. The company says the device can also help users fall asleep, relax or stay focused while working. For now, it has been released only in Japan. Reports Rozetked.me.
The Clock follows a minimalist design. It is made from a solid piece of aluminum, and its face has no traditional hands. Instead, the time appears through Balmuda’s Light Hour system: glowing numerals mark the 12 hours, while minutes and seconds are shown as illuminated segments.

The main selling point is its three operating modes. Users can set it as a standard alarm, switch to a focus mode or choose a rest mode. The available sounds include rain, a fireplace and a river, giving the device a softer, more calming feel than a typical bedside alarm.
Those same ambient sounds are also used for waking up. According to Balmuda, playback starts quietly three minutes before the set alarm time and gradually increases in volume for a gentler start to the day. In focus mode, which can be set for 1 to 60 minutes, users can also turn on white noise to support concentration.
The Clock connects to smartphones through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and runs on a built-in battery. However, battery life is limited to about 24 hours, meaning frequent charging may be necessary. The device is priced at 59,400 yen, or roughly 31,500 Russian rubles.
