Starship engine failure provided valuable data for SpaceX

Shana Diez, SpaceX's Director of Starship Flight Reliability, announced that the team managed to collect critical data during the 12th flight. Although one of the Starship engines unexpectedly failed during the flight, engineers consider this a positive outcome for the research mission. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
Shana Diez emphasized that the most important aspect of such test missions is data acquisition. Metrics regarding the engine's performance during failure and the ship's atmospheric reentry play a major role in ensuring the safety of future flights. Despite challenges at the control center, Starship overcame all obstacles and achieved a successful landing.
Elon Musk also commented on the Starship heat shield after the test, noting that the new shield performed its function perfectly. During this flight, the rocket set a record by carrying approximately 45 tons of Starlink satellite simulators into orbit.
Additionally, there were two modified Starlink satellites on board, specifically adapted for photography. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not yet made a final decision on whether a formal investigation into the engine failure during this flight is necessary.
