Falcon 9 Beyond Competition: Analysis of May Space Launches

During May 2026, a total of 22 space rockets were launched worldwide. This brings the total number of launches since the beginning of the year to 125. The USA maintains absolute leadership in rocket launches — 13 of the flights carried out last month (including one from New Zealand) were attributed to this country. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
China took second place with eight launches, while Europe took third place with one flight. Most of the rockets were launched from Cape Canaveral and the Vandenberg Space Force Base in the USA — six launches were carried out from each site. Also, three rockets were launched from China's Jiuquan spaceport and two from the Wenchang base.
The most used rocket in May was SpaceX's Falcon 9, which flew 11 times in a single month. China's Long March family of rockets were used six times, while Atlas (USA), Vega-C (Europe), Zhuque-3, Lijian-1 (China), and Rocket Lab's Electron rockets each headed to space once.
According to statistics, a total of 360 satellites were placed into Earth's orbit as a result of all flights during May. This figure indicates the rapid development of space projects in both the private and public sectors.
