A new fee has been introduced for store and pharmacy signs in Tashkent

A new problem has arisen for entrepreneurs in the capital. The Tashkent city administration officially classifies labels with names in stores, pharmacies, and various retail outlets as "illegal outdoor advertising" and demands their removal.

Entrepreneurs say that the demand applies not only to brands or large advertising banners, but also to simple, everyday signs, such as "mini-market," "pharmacy," "meat shop." This is an additional financial burden for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The Business Ombudsman's representative, Jamshid Khasanov, expressed his opinion on this issue. He emphasized that although the decision is legally correct, it may not be fully justified from the point of view of justice. "For example, the word 'pharmacy' is not a trademark or trade mark. However, according to the current rules, if the area of the sign is more than 1 square meter, it is considered advertising. This is specifically noted in Government Resolution No. 104. "Now we are considering the possibility of making changes to this decision," he said.

According to current legislation, even simple signs are considered advertising, and entrepreneurs are charged a fee. This situation creates difficulties, especially for small business owners.

According to experts, such requirements can negatively affect the activities of small and medium-sized businesses. Because the name of an ordinary store or pharmacy serves not as an advertisement, but as a guide for passengers and buyers.

According to sources, entrepreneurs oppose this decision, and negotiations are currently underway with the relevant authorities. At the same time, it is not excluded that the rules established by the government decision may change.
