At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, strategic tasks were set to transform the Navoi region beyond recognition in the coming years. Now each corner of the region will be specialized based on its natural resources and opportunities.
Each district is a separate driver
The head of state indicated specific "growth points" for each region of the region:
- Nurota and Ghazgan: Centers for ornamental stones and tourist attractions.
- Tomdi and Uchkuduk: The main power of the mining industry.
- Karmana: A jewel of the chemical industry and cultural heritage.
- Navoi city: Center for mechanical engineering and modern services.
Also, in order to revitalize areas with low industrial volume, a granite industrial park will be built in Nurota, and an industrial zone with projects worth $100 million will be built in Khatirchi.
Deserts and pastures - the source of the economy
It is time to effectively use the 9 million hectares of pastures in the region. Now, sheep, camel and horse breeding will be brought to a new level in these vast areas. Based on China's experience, 3.3 million hectares of land will be brought into agricultural circulation by combating desertification.
Education and IT: Investment in the future
Navoi is not giving up its leadership in the field of education. Starting from the new academic year, the "One school - one IT class" system will be introduced in Navoi and Zarafshan. 100 local teachers will return for advanced training abroad. The Zarafshan branch of TATU will train specialists in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
Tourism: Navoi - a new destination
By 2026, it is planned to attract 600 thousand foreign tourists to the region.
- The "Ancient Karmana" center will be created, and tourists going to Bukhara will stay here for at least a day.
- Modern recreation facilities will be built in the Sarmishsay area.
- Alisher Navoi Park and Lake Yashlik in the city of Navoi will be radically renovated and turned into a favorite recreation area for the population.
Infrastructure and public welfare
In order to improve the lifestyle of the population, more than 400 kilometers of drinking and sewage networks will be renovated in 2026-2028. A total of $ 4.2 billion in investments are expected to be attracted to the region and thousands of new jobs will be created.
As the President emphasized, all these reforms must bring tangible positive changes in the lives of the population.
