Due to strong lightning, some flights could not land in Tashkent

Severe weather conditions observed in the sky over Tashkent affected the plans of a number of flights. Because of strong lightning strikes and unfavorable meteorological conditions, several aircraft were unable to land at the capital’s airport and were diverted to alternate airfields.
It is reported that hazardous weather conditions forced the crews to make such a decision in order to ensure flight safety. Since passenger safety is the top priority, the flights were temporarily redirected to other cities.
In particular, flight HY3526 on the Male — Tashkent route was landed at Samarkand airport amid intense lightning. Similarly, the crew of flight HY722 on the Astana — Tashkent route was also forced to head to the alternate airfield in Samarkand.
In addition, aircraft CSN6027 belonging to a Chinese airline, operating the Beijing — Tashkent route, changed its course and decided to land at Bishkek airport.
According to specialists, landing aircraft during heightened lightning activity poses a high risk. Therefore, in such situations, crews act cautiously and use alternate airfields.
Forecasters note that changeable weather may persist in some areas in the coming days. Thus, minor changes in flight schedules cannot be ruled out.
In short, nature reminded everyone of its rules, and aviation chose safety. For passengers, that is the most important thing.
