According to the water usage index published by the Worldometer portal, Uzbekistan has been ranked among the countries with the highest per capita water consumption. The data indicates that water consumption in Central Asian countries is among the highest in the world.

In Uzbekistan, the average daily water consumption per person is 4,778 liters. With this figure, the country has entered the top ten nations with the highest water usage globally. The majority of water consumption is attributed to agriculture and irrigation systems.

The highest rate in the region was recorded in Turkmenistan, where it is reported that up to 15,445 liters of water are consumed per person daily. In Tajikistan, this figure is 4,460 liters, in Kyrgyzstan 4,153 liters, and in Kazakhstan 3,397 liters.

Along with Uzbekistan, the list includes Chile, Guyana, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the USA, Iran, Estonia, and Azerbaijan. The lowest levels of water usage were observed in African countries. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, only 32 liters of water are used per person per day.
