According to the TASS news agency, Lavrov objected to the fact that leading politicians in Brussels are convincing voters to support Kiev, ignoring serious needs on the issue of Ukraine. “Women and children are without heating, the healthcare system is in a difficult situation. But they are being told: ‘Now we must help Ukraine because it defends European values.’ Now think for yourself what values Europe is championing today,” Lavrov said.

In his speech, he noted that “real Nazism is being revived” in Western Europe. In his opinion, there are many examples of this. In particular, he criticized German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statement that "Germany should be the leader of Europe," saying that it takes "suddenness" to say this.
