Large-Scale Forest Fires Continue in Turkey
A major forest fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the Taraklı district of Turkey’s Sakarya province and has not yet been fully brought under control by evening. This was reported by the İHA news agency. According to local authorities, the fire spread rapidly over a wide area due to strong winds.

Forestry workers, firefighting teams, military units, and other emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.

In an official statement released by the Sakarya Governor’s Office, it was noted that, for safety reasons, 100 residents living near the fire zone were temporarily evacuated to safer areas. Although the fire occurred in forested areas close to villages, no fatalities or injuries have been reported.

"According to information received from the Health Emergency Coordination Center (SAKOM), no citizens have been reported injured as of now. High-risk areas are under full control. Firefighting efforts are ongoing around the clock," the statement said.

The aftermath of the fire was captured from the air via drone and has been widely shared in the media. The footage shows flames illuminating the mountainous forest region in the darkness of night.

Authorities in Turkey are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Efforts to fully extinguish the blaze are continuing without interruption.

In recent years, due to global climate change, the number and scale of forest fires worldwide have increased significantly. Such emergencies highlight the importance of environmental safety and proactive measures, especially for countries like Uzbekistan with large forest areas.
