
An incident in Brussels has led to a temporary suspension of metro services. According to the city’s transport operator STIB/MIVB, the body of a man was found in the tunnel between the “Porte des Halles” and “Hôtel de Monnaie” stations.
As a result of the incident, metro services on lines 2 and 6 were suspended during peak hours. This measure took effect from 13:00 and will remain in place until the investigation is completed.
Service between the “Trône” and “Brussels-Midi” stations has also been temporarily suspended. The identity of the deceased and how he ended up in the metro tunnel are still unknown.
Local authorities are advising passengers to use surface transportation, particularly trams.
