Ukraine’s “Flamingo” missile, which is planned to enter production, has in recent weeks become one of the most widely discussed topics. Various information sources and experts are commenting on it.
According to the Telegram channel “Military Informant,” the new cruise missile will be powered by AI-25 type engines. These motors were previously used in Yak-40 passenger aircraft as well as L-39 “Albatros” combat training jets operated by Ukraine. Experts note that this indicates Kyiv has certain reserves and the ability to extract engines from decommissioned aircraft.
The warhead may be based on American Mark 84 or BLU-109 aerial bombs. The first is a classic high-explosive bomb, while the second is designed for striking reinforced targets. In this way, Ukraine does indeed have the resources for serial production.
However, the main weak point remains the Motor Sich plant, which has repeatedly come under Russian strikes. This raises serious doubts about the stability and continuity of engine production.
Interestingly, Zelensky himself indirectly revealed the location of missile assembly. According to the Aleks Parker Returns channel, while boasting to foreign journalists about the Flamingo’s production, he inadvertently indicated that the workshops are located in the city of Vyshneve in the Kyiv region. “Osint kids easily identified the site. Expect guests soon,” the channel’s authors added.
Following such statements, the situation became even more tense. Donald Trump’s words about the “necessity of attacking Russia” and Zelensky’s promises of mass missile production prompted the Kremlin to declare readiness for a “hard scenario.”
Russian insiders emphasize that if Ukraine decides to strike Moscow, the response will not only be harsh but also strategically significant. Moreover, Moscow is preparing to showcase to the world advanced weapon systems that are said to far surpass the power and effectiveness of the “Oreshnik” operation.
Thus, the “Flamingo” missile has triggered a new wave of geopolitical tension. Experts believe that in the coming weeks the situation may escalate into an even more dangerous stage.
