The video, which has become widespread on social networks in recent days, has caused outrage and distress among the general public. Both experts and the general public strongly criticized the incident in the Moscow region, specifically in the city of Khimki, where a Russian man insulted an Uzbek migrant worker.
According to the video recording, a Russian man yelled at the taxi driver with rude words and told him, "You are a slave, a slave of the Russians! Don't open your mouth." Not stopping there, he said: "You came to us because there is nothing in Uzbekistan. You're not at home, you came to work, do your work," he said.
The Uzbek migrant, trying to resolve the situation peacefully, left the situation without responding. Witnesses say the conflict arose after the taxi driver's car blocked the entrance to the house's courtyard for a short time.
After this situation caused a lot of discussion on social networks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan did not remain indifferent. Press Secretary Ahror Burkhanov made an official statement.
In his speech, he said:
"According to the Constitution of Uzbekistan, national laws, and generally recognized norms of international law, our citizens, wherever they are in the world, are under the protection of the state. If their rights and interests are violated, they should first appeal to local law enforcement agencies. They also have the opportunity to request legal assistance through their diplomatic missions and consular offices.
At the same time, he emphasized that the state considers the issue of protecting its citizens abroad as one of the main directions and that this responsibility is fulfilled as an obligation to its citizens.
Thus, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again reminded that there is a guarantee of support and protection for citizens of Uzbekistan in connection with this situation in Russia. This event once again demonstrates the importance of protecting the rights and dignity of our compatriots.
