Yemeni Prime Minister killed in Israeli strike

On August 28, an Israeli airstrike led to bloody consequences in the Yemeni capital Sana'a. The head of the Houthi government, Prime Minister Ahmad Ghaleb ar-Rahawi, and several ministers have passed away.
According to reports, the strike was carried out precisely during the next government meeting. According to SABA, Israeli military forces simultaneously targeted several locations where high-ranking officials gathered to hear the Ansar Allah leader's speech. Reuters noted that the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff were among the dead.
It should be recalled that on August 25, Israel also carried out an airstrike aimed at Sana, as a result of which at least 10 people were killed and more than 100 civilians were injured.
The Houthis regularly send missiles and drones against Israel, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinians. They are also shelling merchant ships passing through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. In response, Israel and the US are launching strikes to seize territories controlled by the Houthis, including the capital Sana'a.
As is known, the Houthis came to power in 2014 and have held control of Sana'a since 2015.
Ar-Rahawi had led the government since August 2024. Now, his deputy, Muhammad Miftah, has been appointed Prime Minister.
