Pavel Durov swims in Kolsai, Kazakhstan: a scandal and the possibility of a fine

Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, shared a video from his trip to Kazakhstan: he swam in Lake Kolsai in the Almaty region and posted a video on his channel, commenting: "It was a very good swim." The short video quickly turned into a discussion - some admired his bravery, others reminded of the rules of nature conservation.
In response to an inquiry from the "Orda" publication, the state clarified the position of the park administration: the Lakes of Kolsai are a protected area, and swimming is prohibited here. If a violation is recorded, an administrative fine of 39,320 tenge (about 870,000 soums) may be imposed. Garden staff also emphasize safety: the lake water even in summer is around 6-8°C - swimming in such cold water is a serious health risk.
At the same time, the administration questioned the authenticity of the video: they said that it is quite possible that the clip was edited using a neural network or was created artificially altogether. But the fact that Durov personally published the video on his Telegram channel further fueled these suspicions.
In conclusion, a single video has once again sparked debates about compliance with nature's rules, safety, and the reliability of content in the era of artificial intelligence. The administration asks guests to comply with the requirements of the protected area and treat nature with care; the rest will be clarified by official inspections.
