Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Russian leader Vladimir Putin wants to remain in office until his death, stating that this requires public support. According to him, this is why Putin wants the war in Ukraine to continue, linking it to political interests.
Zelenskyy emphasized that this war is not for land, but for the independence of Ukraine and the rights of the people. "I don't understand why the head of the world's largest state wants a few more kilometers of land," he said, expressing the opinion that this conflict is extremely important.
The President also commented on the situation on the battlefield: "We are not losing this war, and Putin is not winning. His army is in a weak state now. They occupied only 1% of our territory, but for this they lost 1.3 million people," Zelenskyy added.
