The British King officially stripped his brother Andrew of his titles

The British King's brother, Prince Andrew, has been stripped of all official titles, and now he will also leave his royal residence at Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace officially announced this on October 30th.

According to the statement, Prince Andrew received an official notification to terminate the lease agreement for the Royal Lodge residence. Instead, Andy moved to Sandrineham Estate, located in Norfolk County. It is reported that his living expenses will be personally covered by King Charles III from his own funds.

This decision was made against the backdrop of a conflict that has shadowed Prince Andrew's name for many years - sexual accusations related to American financier Jeffrey Epstein. As a reminder, Epstein was found in a prison cell in 2019 having committed suicide and was charged with trafficking in minors.

Buckingham Palace stated that Prince Andrew continues to deny the accusations, but King Charles III has decided to renounce all of his official titles.

"These measures were considered necessary. The King firmly affirms his solidarity with the victims and victims of any violence," the palace statement said.

Criticism of Andrew's name flared up again, as recently, on the eve of the publication of the memoirs of the late Virginia Juffre, passages were made public in which she claimed to have had sex with the Prince at the age of 17 through Epstein.

According to the court, the prince is now officially known as "Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor." This means the termination of the official title of "prince" in relation to him.

As a reminder, Andrew announced his resignation as Duke of York in October of this year. Measures against him began as early as 2022, when he was stripped of a number of military and honorary titles and removed from royal duties.

At the same time, deprivation of the title does not exclude him from the list of heirs to the throne. Andrews still remains the eighth in the British monarchy's hereditary order.

According to analysts, this decisive step by King Charles is perceived as an important political and moral signal for maintaining the monarchy's reputation and restoring public trust. The British public, however, views the incident as a "step towards restoring the kingdom's prestige."
