European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that over the past 44 days, EU energy import duties have risen sharply, resulting in an additional cost of more than 22 billion euros.
He emphasized that this situation is directly linked to the unstable situation in the Middle East, which is putting significant pressure on the energy supply chain. As a result, the European market is facing a sharp increase in import costs.
According to von der Leyen, although the European Union spent significant funds during this period, the supply of energy resources did not increase significantly. This further exacerbates the problems of energy balance and security.
