Turkey Issues Warrant Against Netanyahu: International Manhunt Question Raised

Middle Eastern media outlets reported that Turkey had issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for questioning over alleged genocide.

According to reports, the decision was made as part of an investigation into the interception of the Sumud flotilla heading to the Gaza Strip and the arrest of activists involved in it.

Warrant issued on July 14

According to Turkish authorities, the arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu was issued on July 14.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s Ministry of Justice is asking Interpol to consider issuing a red notice. Such a request is one of the legal mechanisms used internationally to identify a person and determine their whereabouts.

“All necessary measures will be taken”

Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek said Ankara would continue its policy of supporting the Palestinian people.

“All necessary measures will be taken to hold accountable those who have committed crimes against humanity,” the Turkish side stated.

The main issue now is Interpol’s decision

Under the current circumstances, the main focus is on what outcome Turkey’s request to Interpol will produce.

If this process officially moves forward, the international legal mechanisms that could be applied against Netanyahu are expected to become the subject of further debate.
