The social taxi service for children with disabilities is now expanding throughout the country. In the spring, this project was launched as a pilot project in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Andijan. Now, 11 more cities have joined it: Bukhara, Karshi, Fergana, Urgench, Kokand, Jizzakh, Namangan, Navoi, Nukus, Gulistan, and Khiva. Thus, the service currently operates in 14 cities.
The project is being implemented by the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Yandex Uzbekistan. This provides great support and convenience for children with disabilities and their parents.
What does this mean in practice? A child with a disability will now be able to easily commute to and from school by taxi. At the same time, the state reimburses transportation costs for each child in the amount of 1.2 times the basic calculated value per month - up to 494,400 soums. The amount of compensation can be 60% or 100% of the cost of the trip, depending on the degree of disability of the child and the type of benefit.
The trip can be booked through the Yandex Go mobile application. The application has special features for passengers moving in wheelchairs: "I will be in a wheelchair" or "Help me find a car." Thus, the platform creates convenience and freedom for every family.
Importantly, Yandex Go does not receive income from these orders. Compensation is directed directly to drivers, and no service fee is charged. This ensures the transparency and efficiency of the service.
