From November 1, 2023, in Uzbekistan, it will no longer be necessary to change the "technical passport" of a car after installing a gas cylinder.
According to a decision by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on September 16, 2025, from November 1, 2023, it will no longer be necessary to change the vehicle's "technical passport" after installing a gas cylinder. Information about the gas cylinder will be maintained electronically, and re-issuance of the technical passport is no longer required.
New System and Changes
In late September 2023, a new UGaz system was launched in Uzbekistan for gas refueling stations. It allows real-time monitoring of the refueling process, ensuring safety and transparency. The system registers the process at each gas station, reducing the need for manual accounting and enhancing the transparency of operations.
Advantages of the System and Enhanced Safety
The UGaz system not only improves the transparency of payments but also ensures the safety of refueling. Each vehicle refueled at a gas station is automatically checked for technical inspection. If the technical inspection period has expired, the system notifies the operator. Additionally, if the fuel type does not match or the cylinder is not registered, the system immediately alerts the operator.
Key Advantages of the New System
Reduced need for manual calculations: All processes are automated and recorded.
Transparency and legal compliance: Every step is recorded and compliant with the established standards.
Enhanced safety: Every vehicle is checked for technical condition.
Results and Significance of the Changes
These changes are crucial for confirming the status of the gas cylinder and the technical inspection of each vehicle. The new system will also help prevent many violations. The updated rules create convenience for both manufacturers and consumers.
These steps are an important part of Uzbekistan's transportation infrastructure modernization and reforms in the gas sector, contributing to increased stability.
