According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-September 2025, 40,345 electric vehicles worth a total of 473 million US dollars were imported into Uzbekistan from 16 foreign countries.
This indicator increased by more than 24 thousand units compared to the same period last year, showing an almost 2.5-fold increase.
The largest number of electric vehicles were imported from China - 39,798 units. Also, 249 electric vehicles were imported from Hong Kong, 165 from the Republic of Korea, 43 from Germany, and 25 from the USA. The remaining 65 belong to other countries.
According to experts, such a rapid increase in electric vehicle imports is due to the country's policy of transition to "green energy," customs benefits, and public interest in environmentally friendly vehicles. At the same time, the development of electricity charging infrastructure is expected to further accelerate this process.
