For the Air of Uzbekistan: Cars Will Be Divided into «Clean», «Medium», and «Harmful»!

New Environmental Regulation Approved
By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 750 dated November 28 of the current year, the procedure for determining the compliance of pollutant emissions from vehicles with the standards of harm caused to the atmosphere, and the corresponding regulation were approved. Henceforth, all vehicles in Uzbekistan will be separated into ecological categories, and special ecological stickers will be issued to them.
Based on Which Criteria is the Separation Made?
According to the Regulation, the ecological category of the car is determined according to its class confirmed by the manufacturer and is divided into three main categories:
«Clean» Category (Green Sticker): For petrol or gas cars – «Euro-2» and above, for diesel cars – «Euro-4» and above. This also includes Hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as all vehicles manufactured less than 3 years ago.
«Medium» Category (Yellow Sticker): For petrol/gas cars – «Euro-0» and «Euro-1», for diesel cars – «Euro-3» class.
«Harmful» Category (Red Sticker): Vehicles running only on diesel fuel, of the lowest classes – from «Euro-0» to «Euro-2».
Procedure for Obtaining the Sticker
During the vehicle registration process, ecological stickers in green, yellow, or red colors corresponding to their categories are issued by special operators at the Road Safety divisions. Notably, the vehicle owner can apply for the sticker voluntarily through the my.gov.uz portal. These ecological stickers are valid for an indefinite period.
