When will Switchblade flying taxis arrive in Uzbekistan?

Switchblade flying taxis will be delivered to Uzbekistan from 2028 to 2030. This was reported by the Deputy Director of Air Tashkent, Anvar Sulaymonov, in an interview with the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel.

He noted that the certification process with the US company Samson Sky is currently underway. More than ten Air Tashkent employees will train at Samson Sky and then carry out technical maintenance.

“According to the contract signed with Samson Sky, Air Tashkent plans to produce three types of vehicles. The first type is gasoline engines. The second is electric engines. The third is a solar panel-powered flying taxi. They can fly up to 800 kilometers. For example, from Tashkent, it takes 3–4 hours to reach Urgench,” said Sulaymonov.

The flying taxi can carry three to seven passengers. If there is a space of 130 meters, it transforms into a ready flying taxi. Taking off takes 3 minutes. It includes a cooling system, navigation, and autopilot.

“This flying taxi can operate in any weather conditions. With autopilot, it can fly without a driver, but for safety, the driver must stay at the control panel,” Sulaymonov emphasized.

The report adds that the gradual implementation of the project will make flying taxis a common sight across the country.

In February, Air Tashkent signed an agreement to purchase 300 Switchblade flying vehicles from Samson Sky.

Samson Sky is a US-based innovative technology company developing flying cars, headquartered in Oregon, USA.
