Great Wall Motors has announced that its new Haval Raptor PLUS crossover will go on sale in the Chinese market starting May 15. Pre-orders for the model began on April 18, with starting prices from 189,800 yuan. Experts believe that once retail sales begin, the price of this powerful hybrid vehicle may decrease further. The new model has grown significantly in size while retaining its classic "boxy" design. The vehicle measures 4912 mm in length, 1950 mm in width, and 1905 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. These dimensions put it almost on par with the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Buyers are offered 5 and 7-seater cabin configurations.
The interior is equipped with modern technology, including a 15.6-inch 2.5K resolution screen, a W-HUD projection display, a 12-speaker audio system, and a 50W wireless charger. For added comfort, it also features a 5.4-liter refrigerator, as well as heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the front seats.
Technically, the Haval Raptor PLUS is based on the Great Wall Hi4 hybrid system and a 4WD drivetrain. The combined power of the 1.5-liter turbo engine and electric motors is 449 hp, with 660 N·m of torque. The crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
The model is available with three battery capacities: 23.7, 33.7, and 44.7 kWh. According to the WLTC cycle, the vehicle is capable of covering up to 191 kilometers on electric power alone.
