Porsche to modify 911 GT3 engine due to European standards
Porsche is considering changes to the engine of its 911 GT3 model due to stricter environmental regulations in Europe. Andreas Preuninger, head of the GT division, indicated that the future of the 4.0-liter atmospheric engine is uncertain, although it may remain available in markets like the U.S. for a longer period. Without significant modernization, the engine will only meet current standards for a few more years. Porsche is exploring options, including switching to a previously unused turbocharged engine or adding a hybrid system to reduce emissions while maintaining performance.
