President launches a $90 million complex in Yangihayot district

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Yangi Avlod” special industrial zone in Tashkent’s Yangihayot district and reviewed the activities of an aluminum packaging and soft drink production enterprise.

In recent years, Uzbekistan’s industrialization policy has reached a new stage, forming an economic growth model based on modern production capacities and international technological standards.

The “Yangi Avlod” special industrial zone was established under a presidential decree dated March 20, 2024. It stands out for its advanced infrastructure, favorable logistics, and extensive benefits for investors.

One of the key projects in the area is implemented by “East Can Solutions” — a complex for aluminum packaging and soft drink bottling.

The President reviewed the project’s prospects and the product display and gave the official start to its operation.

The enterprise covers 21 hectares, with a total investment of $90 million, financed primarily through foreign investments.

The facility, one of the few of its kind in Central Asia, is equipped with modern machinery from the USA, the UK, Italy, and Germany. The production process is fully digitalized.

Production capacity will gradually increase — starting from 600 million units per year, then expanding to 1.1 billion and 2.2 billion units. This will not only meet domestic demand but also enable competitive exports across the region.

The project will replace $60 million worth of imports and create $20 million in export potential.

Localization will reach 90%. Once fully operational, the enterprise will create 500 new jobs and generate significant tax revenues.

The President was also briefed on ongoing projects within the “Yangi Avlod” special industrial zone.

Officials reported on the development strategy, localization, digitalization, and implementation of energy-efficient technologies.

A total of 58 projects worth $1.2 billion are being implemented in food, electrical, engineering, chemical, and construction industries. Twenty-eight of these projects were presented to the President. These initiatives are expected to create 7,600 new jobs.

It was emphasized that the projects will contribute not only to economic growth but also to social stability through job creation, export growth, and the expansion of local industries.
