As of March 1, 2026, 576.8 thousand enterprises and organizations operate in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the National Statistical Committee.
According to the analysis results, the largest number of enterprises operate in the trade sector - 156,796. 127,071 enterprises are registered in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and 61,062 enterprises in industry. 31,372 entities operate in the construction sector, and 31,350 in the accommodation and food services sector.
The most active region by region is the city of Tashkent - 111,137 enterprises. Tashkent region (54,273) and Samarkand region (53,475) are in the next places. The smallest number of enterprises is in the Syrdarya region - 16,557.
The number of enterprises operating in other regions is as follows: Fergana - 49,278, Kashkadarya - 44,055, Andijan - 35,500, Bukhara - 34,902, Namangan - 33,776, Khorezm - 32,069, Surkhandarya - 32,023. The Republic of Karakalpakstan is at an average level with 29,220 enterprises, Jizzakh - 26,468, and Navoi - 24,061.
Thus, the largest share of enterprises in Uzbekistan falls on trade, agriculture, and industry, and in terms of territory, the city of Tashkent leads.
