824 thousand soum fine proposed for unpaid parking in Uzbekistan

A fine of 824,000 soums is proposed in Uzbekistan for unpaid parking

It is proposed to introduce large fines against cases of not paying for paid parking spaces along roads in Uzbekistan, according to the Spot news agency. This proposal was put forward by the Tashkent city administration.

The proposal was presented on October 15 during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to review transport infrastructure on a BRT rapid bus. In particular, cases of unpaid and disorderly parking observed on Shota Rustaveli street demonstrated the urgency of the issue.

Current legislation does not stipulate specific penalties for non-payment. According to the proposal, a fine of 2 times the base calculation amount (about 824,000 soums) may be imposed for unpaid parking. In addition, the administration is raising the issue of insufficient evacuation and temporary storage zones and is proposing to create new special parking places.
