A court case has begun in Kazakhstan against a man who beat his wife and dragged her tied to a horse

In Kazakhstan, a man accused of brutally beating his wife and then dragging her across the steppe, tied to a horse, participated in the trial for the first time. This was reported by the Kazinform news agency.

According to the investigation, the conflict between the couple started out of jealousy. It was also noted that the defendant was intoxicated during the altercation. As a result, the woman sustained serious injuries.

The incident occurred in July 2025 in an open steppe area. The man first brutally beat the woman, then tied her to a horse and dragged her for several kilometers.

The victim sustained numerous serious injuries, including brain swelling, skull fractures, limb fractures, and pelvic fractures. Traces of crawling were also found on the body.

Although doctors provided emergency medical care to save the woman's life, all attempts were unsuccessful. He died in the hospital.

Initially, a criminal case was opened against the man on the grounds of causing grievous bodily harm. However, the relatives of the deceased officially demanded that the charges be reviewed for a more severe punishment.

The defendant requested a closed court hearing, but this request was denied by the court. The next court hearing is scheduled for December 5, 2025.

Currently, the court hearings are open, and this case has further strengthened public discussions about domestic violence in the country.
