Individual who promised to send person on Umrah pilgrimage arrested while receiving $1,500

In Bukhara, an individual was arrested for promising to send a citizen on an Umrah pilgrimage in exchange for $1,500. This was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs.
It was determined that a person born in 2004, who worked as an operator at a Bukhara branch of an LLC registered in the Kashkadarya region, introduced himself as an authorized person for organizing Umrah trips and attempted to exploit the trust of citizens. He told a woman living in Bukhara that he would send her on a seven-day Umrah trip, demanding $1,500 in return.
During an operational event, the suspect was caught red-handed in his office while receiving the pre-marked $1,500 and 850,000 soums.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently underway.
