On the eve of the match, which could become one of the important pages in the history of Kazakh football, young and talented Kairat goalkeeper Sherkhan Kalmurza shared his thoughts in an interview with journalists.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper emphasized that the match against Real Madrid in the second round of the Champions League is of great importance not only for the club's honor but for the entire country.
- This game is a huge responsibility for us. Because we will defend not only the honor of "Kairat," but also the name of Kazakhstan. I think that football fans from all over the CIS will support us. We, in turn, must demonstrate that talented players will emerge in Kazakhstan, and that our football deserves attention and respect. No matter how high the opponent's status is, the main thing is to be able to show our style and game," said the young goalkeeper.
Sherkhan Kalmurza became the main goalkeeper of the team after Alexander Zarutskiy and Temirlan Anarbekov were unable to play due to various injuries. The young man's courage and passion for his work are generating great interest among fans.
