Carlo Ancelotti once again spoke with great respect about his former student, Luka Modric, who has become a symbol of the century in world football. According to the Italian specialist, despite approaching 40 years of age, it's no coincidence that the Croatian midfielder is still playing at the elite level, performing above all expectations.
Modric, whose contract with Real Madrid expired in the summer, joined AC Milan as a free agent. However, despite age-related questions and various speculations, he continues to distribute the ball with his famous pleasure and "class" even as part of the Italian championship.
Ancelotti explains this situation as follows:
According to him, Modric's current form isn't particularly surprising. Because the Croatian star has a main goal - to perform again at the upcoming World Cup. This intention, this aspiration motivates him to work to the maximum in every training session, in every game.
According to Ancelotti, during his time at Real Madrid, Modric never missed a single training session - even despite high demands, long trips, or short recovery periods.
His words are very short, but very precise:
"This is a serious attitude towards genetics and the profession. It's all so simple."
Ancelotti also answered questions like "Is Modrić a phenomenon or Serie A a comfortable league for away players?" In his opinion, such statements are not at all a serious approach:
"No jokes are needed. Luka is still one of the highest-level midfielders in the world."
Another noteworthy aspect is that AC Milan's management is very satisfied with Modric's quality of play and experience. Therefore, the club is reportedly planning to offer him another one-season contract. Ancelotti supported this decision, stating:
"He can still have another season at a high level without problems."
In conclusion, for a 40-year-old footballer, such a level of play is almost a miracle. But Modric himself is a footballer who has been creating miracles all his life.
Ancelotti personally hopes he'll surpass him for several more seasons.
