UEFA Again Excludes Russian National Team from Tournament

UEFA has announced the composition of the draw pots for the 2026/2027 season of the Nations League. As previously reported, the Russian national team is not included in the list of participants. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

This decision is not unexpected: the sanctions against the Russian Football Union (RFU) remain in effect and continue at the FIFA level as well. These restrictions have been in place for nearly four years, which is why the Russian national team is only allowed to play in friendly matches during this period.

The Nations League draw will take place on February 12. Last summer, the tournament was won by the Portuguese national team: they defeated Spain in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in the final.
