The 58-year-old famous American podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan did not hide his surprise at the style of the British Paddy Pimblett in the fight against Justin Gaethje. According to him, Paddy chose not a "smart plan" this time, but a direct explosion.
"From the first seconds of the fight, it seemed that Paddy left the tactics at home. We had been talking about the mind and calculation being added to his chaotic style, but we did not see anything like that in this fight... He did not even try to block the blows coming to his feet, but rushed forward, broke into close range and rained down powerful blows. He did not even do any "reconnaissance"... It was absolutely crazy," - said Rogan, quoted by the publication "Bloody Elbow".
According to Rogan, such a “bet everything on one card” style may be unspectacular for fans, but against an opponent as experienced and hard-hitting as Gaethje, it is a very dangerous choice. Because at this pace you not only waste energy, but even one or two small mistakes can dramatically change the fate of the fight.
As a reminder, in the super fight at the “UFC 324” tournament, Justin Gaethje defeated Paddy Pimblett by unanimous decision of the judges. There is no doubt that Paddy has heart, but this fight once again showed that on the big stage you need not only courage, but also a cold-blooded plan.
