Guardiola speaks on Manchester City's title chances

Manchester City kept the Premier League title race alive with a 3-0 home victory over Crystal Palace. Following this win, the 'Citizens' have narrowed the gap to league leaders Arsenal to just two points.

With two matchdays remaining in the Premier League, the situation for Manchester City is delicate. Pep Guardiola's side must win their remaining games, but that alone is not enough; they now rely on Arsenal dropping points to secure the title.

The convincing win against Crystal Palace provided a significant mental boost. City dominated with their trademark possession, high press, and clinical attacking play. However, Guardiola remained realistic, admitting that the title destiny is no longer entirely in their hands.

"Unfortunately, it is not in our hands for many reasons. We have a great atmosphere and spirit in the team," Guardiola said in an interview with Sky Sports.

The Spanish manager emphasized that the upcoming fixtures will not be easy. Manchester City faces crucial matches against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, both of whom are fighting for their own goals and will not make it easy for the 'Citizens'.

"Now we have another cup final ahead of us. Bournemouth and Aston Villa are not easy opponents. Bournemouth is fighting for European spots, and I can't even remember when they last lost," the coach said.

At the same time, Guardiola did not hide that the team's current focus is also on another major clash: the cup final against Chelsea. At this stage, the team requires not only physical readiness but also mental stability.

"But right now, all our thoughts are elsewhere — on the final against Chelsea," Guardiola added.

In short, Manchester City is still in the title race. The gap is only two points, but every mistake is now costly. Guardiola's team must do their job and wait for Arsenal to slip up. In football, two matchdays can change the fate of an entire season.
