Tesla has started rolling out its Full Self-Driving system in Europe

Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) driver-assistance software has received approval for use in Lithuania. This is the second European country to approve the technology after the Netherlands. The company aims to position itself not just as an automaker, but as a leading force in AI and robotics. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

The entry of the FSD system into the European market is of strategic importance for Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk. Musk's $1 trillion compensation package is tied to a number of product goals, including having 10 million active FSD subscribers by 2035. Currently, the company has nearly 1.3 million paying customers worldwide.

Launched in beta in 2020, the FSD (Supervised) system requires constant driver supervision, but it can perform complex maneuvers such as steering, lane changes, and stopping. In January, Elon Musk announced that the only way to access this feature would be through a $99 monthly subscription.

The expansion of the FSD system in Europe is slower than in the US, mainly due to strict regulatory scrutiny. However, the Dutch regulator RDW is working to have this technology recognized across the entire European Union. Greece and Belgium are also expected to approve the system soon.

Currently, the FSD system is available in countries such as Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, South Korea, and the US. This technology is an integral part of Musk's vision to turn Tesla into an AI leader and is the only major AI product available to mass consumers.
