One UI 8.5 firmware for Galaxy A17 5G released in Europe and Asia

Following the Galaxy A16 5G, the final version of the One UI 8.5 interface has been released for another budget smartphone from Samsung — the Galaxy A17 5G. The update is currently available to users in countries such as Bulgaria, France, India, Nepal, and Vietnam. This is reported by Ixbt.com .
The firmware, released under the number A176BXXU5CZE9, is 2.4 GB in size and includes the May 2026 security patch. The update brings a slightly modified interface, expanded personalization options, and improved system applications to the device.
Users can now enjoy a fully customizable quick settings panel, additional fonts for the lock screen clock, and automatic sorting options. New filters have also been added to the Camera app, and useful features like the air dust index have been added to the Weather app.
The Samsung Notes app has been enriched with tables and automatic calculations, while the Samsung Health app now features new ways to share workout data with Galaxy Watch. In the Samsung Internet browser, a new tab page showing protection status and open pages on other devices has been introduced.
According to Counterpoint Research, the Galaxy A17 5G was among the most popular Android smartphones in the world in the first quarter of 2026. This update is expected to further strengthen the device's market position.
