Intel has started manufacturing processors for iPhone

Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Intel has begun manufacturing processors for budget or older models of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Approximately 80 percent of these orders are for iPhone models. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Apple's plans will be implemented in stages: small-scale trials in 2026, increased production volume in 2027, and continued growth in 2028. Apple is also actively exploring other advanced technological processes from Intel.

Intel aims to stabilize product quality (yield) at 50–60 percent or higher by 2027. Even if initial deliveries are successful, TSMC is expected to retain more than 90 percent of the market share.

Insiders claim there are mixed views within Intel regarding Apple's orders. Apple began these negotiations long before potential capacity shortages for advanced technological processes at TSMC. Apple is well aware that TSMC resources will be increasingly directed toward artificial intelligence in the future.
