Uzbekistan to adopt Information Code

As part of the National Strategy for Human Rights in Uzbekistan until 2030, it is planned to adopt the Information Code. This is indicated in a special "roadmap".

The new code will systematize the norms on the rights and freedoms of a person to receive and disseminate information. In addition, legal protection mechanisms will be strengthened to prevent violations of human rights and freedoms in the digital environment.

If the Information Code is adopted, the laws on citizens' rights to access and receive information, as well as on the independence of the media, will be systematized and further improved.

Digital technologies will be widely introduced to ensure the transparency of elections. In particular, the electronic maintenance of voter lists and its open monitoring system will be improved.
