An important step has been taken in Uzbekistan to further improve the system of forensic examination and develop the industry based on modern technologies. The Presidential Decree "On Measures for Further Improvement of Forensic Activities and Wide Introduction of Modern Technologies into the Sphere" created a legal basis for fundamental reforms in the sphere.
This document clearly defines the main goals and objectives of forensic activities. In particular, it was determined to ensure the speed, objectivity, and reliability of research through the digitalization of forensic examination processes and the widespread use of artificial intelligence capabilities. This is of great importance in protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
Also, in accordance with the resolution, a system of full electronic interaction between forensic organizations and expert appointing bodies will be established. Through this, it is planned to increase the electronic document flow in the industry to 100 percent.
Now, the "E-ekspertiza" information system, which ensures the exchange of electronic documents with courts, inquiry and investigation bodies, and structures authorized to consider administrative cases, will be gradually fully implemented in the activities of forensic organizations.
Document management through this platform will be transparent and operational. Thus, paperwork will be eliminated, and the expenditure of unnecessary time and resources will be reduced. At the same time, it will be possible to monitor each work process online.
The "E-ekspertiza" platform will be launched in the following stages:
- From January 1, 2026, in expert bodies of the republican level;
- From June 1, 2026, in the bodies of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all regions and the city of Tashkent;
- From September 1, 2026, in expert organizations at the district and city levels.
