President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Islamabad on a state visit. The first minutes of the trip were marked by a special atmosphere: at the moment of entry into the airspace of Pakistan, the high-ranking guest aircraft was accompanied by fighter jets of this country's Air Force. This was perceived as another symbolic expression of respect and attention to the visit.
The head of Uzbekistan was solemnly welcomed at Nurkhan Airport in Islamabad by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and other officials. During the ceremony, the flags of the two countries were raised high, the guard of honor was lined up, and a response was made in accordance with the official protocol.
According to the program, today it is planned to hold a meeting with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces - Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, as well as negotiations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif. At the same time, the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will be held. It is expected that this format will serve to bring relations between the two countries to a new level.
Tomorrow, February 6, a meeting with the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and participation in the Uzbek-Pakistani business forum are planned. Within the framework of the forum, issues of expanding trade and economic ties, investment projects, and business cooperation will naturally be on the agenda.
In short, this visit to Islamabad was not limited to an official protocol, but began as an important trip aimed at further strengthening political trust and practical cooperation between the two countries.
