Due to the expected rains on February 16-17, mudslides and floods are possible in the foothill and mountainous regions of the republic. Officials warned that there is a possibility of rainwater accumulating in some places and flooding.
The threat of mudflows affects a number of districts, as well as some cities of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions. It is said that the risk is especially high on mountain slopes, along streams, and in low-lying areas.
Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers are urged to exercise caution: avoid stopping along streams and ditches, reduce speed on dangerous roads, and postpone mountain routes if the weather worsens. In short, during these days, the "return safely" plan wins, not the "get there quickly" plan.
