Will 3 years of mandatory work be canceled for those who studied on grants?

Requirements for mandatory labor activity, introduced in Uzbekistan for students studying on the basis of a state grant, may be revised. In particular, it is proposed to abolish the obligation to work for at least three years established for graduates of higher educational institutions who have graduated on the basis of a state grant. The newspaper reported this.
This is stated in the draft on amendments to the resolution "On approval of the regulation on the procedure for targeted training of personnel on the basis of state grants." It provides for the improvement and further clarification of existing procedures based on modern requirements.
According to the current regulations, students who studied on a state grant were required to work at the designated place for at least three years after graduation. The new proposal provides for the abolition of the specific term "at least three years" and its replacement with the concept of universal "mandatory" work.
According to the draft document, the exact duration of such an obligation can now be determined separately by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, based on the specifics of each educational area. This allows us to take into account the need for personnel in various fields.
Also, some terms in the graduate job placement system are being reviewed. In particular, it is proposed to replace the concept of "permanent place of residence" with "place of residence." These changes are aimed at ensuring legal clarity and eliminating uncertainties in practice.
According to experts, these innovations will serve to further liberalize the education system, create broader opportunities for graduates, and adapt to the requirements of the labor market. At the same time, it is expected that the issue of effective placement of personnel trained on the basis of a state grant will be resolved based on new approaches.
