Mirziyoyev meets with Kazakhstan's foreign minister

On March 31, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held an official meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, who arrived in the country on an official visit. The meeting focused on the continuous development of bilateral ties and the deepening of mutual cooperation between the two neighboring nations.

At the beginning of the conversation, the high-ranking guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Uzbek leader. This gesture underscored the strong personal rapport between the heads of state and the enduring goodwill shared by the peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

During the high-level talks, the parties thoroughly discussed pressing issues related to further strengthening the close friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Both sides expressed great satisfaction with the active and dynamic cooperation currently being implemented across multiple levels, including active engagements between parliaments, governments, regional administrations, and business circles of the two countries.

The officials highlighted the highly effective work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, which has been instrumental in driving bilateral initiatives. They noted with satisfaction that the volume of mutual trade is steadily growing. Furthermore, cooperative ties are consistently expanding in vital sectors such as industrial manufacturing, energy, transport and logistics, environmental protection, and sustainable water resource management.

Particular attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of joint economic projects. The agenda also included establishing new avenues of cooperation in the field of rare metals, taking measures to further increase the flow of tourists between the two republics, and broadening humanitarian exchange programs. Notably, the leaders explored innovative areas for collaboration, including the space industry and the creative economy.

Concluding the meeting, the participants emphasized the critical importance of carefully preparing the agenda for upcoming bilateral and multilateral events. The President and the Foreign Minister also took the opportunity to exchange views on various pressing issues of international and regional politics, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development in Central Asia.
