Shavkat Mirziyoyev holds important meeting with Putin in Moscow

On May 8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, on a working visit. During the visit, the head of state met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the current state and promising directions of cooperation between the two countries.

The head of state was welcomed at Vnukovo International Airport by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and other officials. This visit demonstrated the consistent continuation of relations based on constant dialogue, strategic partnership, and mutual trust between the two nations.

Within the framework of events in Moscow, a meeting between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin took place. At the beginning of the conversation, the leaders sincerely congratulated each other on the 81st anniversary of the Victory. This date holds a special place in the history of both nations, as Uzbek and Russian peoples stood shoulder to shoulder and showed great dedication for the sake of a common victory during the Second World War.

The meeting addressed in detail the issues of further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia. During the conversation, it was noted with satisfaction that the volume of mutual trade is growing steadily. These areas remain one of the main pillars for the economic relations between the two states.

The leaders noted the importance of maintaining the pace of trade turnover, accelerating cooperation projects in priority areas, and further activating ties between business circles. In particular, continuing cooperation at the regional level could open up great opportunities for both sides.

Special attention was also paid to cultural and humanitarian exchange issues. Education, culture, science, and people-to-people ties are an important part of the relations between the two countries. Because, besides politics and economy, the closeness between peoples is also a solid foundation for cooperation.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on current issues of international importance. In today's complex geopolitical situation, such dialogues are of great importance from the point of view of regional stability, economic cooperation, and foreign policy coordination.

On May 9, the leader of Uzbekistan will participate in solemn events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. This participation is assessed as a symbol of respect for historical memory, honoring the courage of veterans, and reverence for the common past.
