Number of men in Uzbekistan exceeds number of women

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2026, there were an average of 1,015 men for every 1,000 women in the country. This indicator shows a predominance of men in the gender ratio.
By region, the highest rate was recorded in the Namangan region, where there are 1,034 men for every 1,000 women. This is the highest result in the republic.
Also, this indicator was 1,029 in the Kashkadarya region, 1,027 in the Andijan region, 1,026 in the Navoi region, and 1,025 in the Surkhandarya region.
In the Jizzakh and Fergana regions, there were 1,019 men for every 1,000 women, while in the Samarkand region, this figure was recorded at 1,016.
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the figure was 1,010, in the Syrdarya region 1,009, and in the Tashkent region 1,008. Additionally, 1,006 men were recorded in the Bukhara region and 1,004 in the Khorezm region.
In the capital, Tashkent, the situation is the opposite. Here, there are 966 men for every 1,000 women, which is the lowest indicator in the republic.
