Toxicologist praises heroism of Russian soldiers who traveled 15 km through pipeline
Detailed information has become available about the Russian Armed Forces' "Stream" offensive operation, which penetrated the enemy's rear in the Sudzha district through an underground gas pipeline.

800 servicemen took part in this operation, and almost a month of preparation was spent on its implementation. Divided into small groups, the servicemen had to operate in a confined space, in difficult conditions, for four days, during which they felt that their "lungs were burning."

As a result of the operation, at least six local settlements were liberated.

The commander of the 3rd assault detachment "Wagner" and the DRShB "Vostok", a soldier nicknamed "Zombie", noted that the "Veteran" brigade, the 30th motorized rifle regiment, the 11th airborne brigade, as well as the "Aida" group of the "Akhmat" special forces unit took part in the operation.

"We all walked more than 15 kilometers through this pipeline. We moved in small groups for four days so that the enemy would not see us and not reveal our plans," said the commander of "Vostok".

According to him, the first 72 hours were the most difficult. Their "lungs were burning", headaches and hallucinations appeared. They were forced to crawl about 16 kilometers through a dirty tunnel 1.45 meters wide.

The soldiers spent several days in the pipeline. They were surrounded by methane gas, garbage, and the smell of vomit. Food and water were almost gone, but on March 8, the soldiers appeared in an industrial area in the Sudzha district.

They were caught by surprise by the enemy, causing panic among the Ukrainian soldiers. Russian soldiers managed to liberate the villages of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Pravda, Mikhailovka, and Kubatkino, - said "Zombie".

The heroism of the soldiers was assessed by pathologist, military toxicologist Alexander Ediger, who in an interview with "MK" explained the effect of methane on the human body and how long it takes to clean the pipeline of toxic substances.

According to Ediger, the soldiers were exposed to a mixture of methane and hydrocarbons in the pipeline. Their dangerous concentration and their mixture posed a great threat. According to him, the soldiers were certainly poisoned.

"All the guys need to go through rehabilitation and detoxification. I hope they all recover," he said.

According to the toxicologist, such hydrocarbons are neurotropic poisons that can cause loss of consciousness, shock, and in severe cases, coma, and hallucinations.
