
US President Donald Trump hosted an iftar at the White House for representatives of the Muslim community and diplomats from several Muslim countries. Anadolu Agency reported.
This was Trump's first iftar during his second term. He began his speech with the words "Happy Ramadan" and said that he was pleased with the support of Muslims in the United States in the presidential election in November 2024.
Trump announced that representatives of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, Pakistan and other countries will participate in the event.
"I want to express my special gratitude to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim Americans who supported me in a record number of ways in the 2024 presidential election. It was incredible," the US president said.
According to the politician, the White House administration continues to fulfill its promises to the Muslim community.
"We are conducting diplomatic work to establish lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords," he said.
The US president also expressed special gratitude to Muslims living in the state of Michigan.
"As long as I'm president, I'm with you. I support you. I want you to know that," he said.
